CLASSIC COSMOPOLITAN COCKTAIL

News
It wasn’t really until the 1970’s when the Vodka version of this classic cocktail really kicked off but the first reference, albeit gin based, dates back to 1934 in the Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars 1903-1933.

THE COSMOPOLITAN
History:
It wasn’t really until the 1970’s when the Vodka version of this classic cocktail really kicked off but the first reference, albeit gin based, dates back to 1934 in the Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars 1903-1933.

There are many different versions of the light and fruity drink but here’s the classic recipe for you to try.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces vodka or citrus vodka
1 ounce Cointreau orange liqueur
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/4 ounce cranberry juice
Orange peel for garnish

Method:
Shake the ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

To Serve:
Take some orange peel, flambé and rub around the rim of the glass.
Then use this as garnish on the side of the glass.

Why not also try the Vodka based South Side or Humble Pie ??
